We are looking for more employees for the Malmö yard. Are you interested in a physically demanding outdoor job in a constantly changing railway environment? Where we help our customers transport goods in an environmentally friendly and efficient way every day, then the position at Malmö shunting yard might be just right for you. No previous experience is required. So if you think a job as an outdoor shunter with great colleagues sounds appealing, apply today!
Your Responsibilities
Malmö is one of the country's hubs for freight transport by rail. At the yard, we work with shunting and sorting freight wagons. This means that wagons arrive in trains from all over the country and are divided and assembled into new trains to reach our important customers and terminals. The role of a yard worker involves planning and shunting wagons to the correct train and customer. In addition to the shunting itself, functional checks and brake tests of the wagons are included before they depart for new destinations.
The work is physically demanding, and you walk about 20,000 to 30,000 steps during a shift. The working hours vary from week to week and are distributed over 3 different shifts. All work is done in teams of at least two, and you work every other weekend.
A common goal is to ensure that the trains reach customers on time and safely. This requires a high level of commitment from everyone working at the yard.

The position is a permanent full-time employment initiated by a 6-month probationary period, with a planned start in week 18 or by agreement.

Green Cargo covers travel and accommodation for the weeks you have training at another location.
Working within Green Cargo's production means irregular working hours, and the hours vary from week to week. You will receive your schedule on the 15th of each month with your working hours for the following month.
